As I was listening to ESPN radio today, the topic was the significant NFL records that stood to be broken this season. These are the categories: The Most consecutive seasons with at least 100 catches, The Most overall returns for a touchdown, The Most interception returns for a touchdown, The Most consecutive games with at least one touchdown pass, The Most interception return yards in a career, The Most scoring seasons of at least 500 points.
The one that’s the loftiest of records is the Concesutive Game Passing a Touchdown record. It’s currently held by Johnny U. He tossed a TD pass an incredible 47 straight games from 1956-1960!! Drew Brees currently has a streak of 43 games in a row and some think he’ll take down Johnny’s record. I think Brees is a great quarterback and certainly a model player and citizen, but there’s some things that just shouldn’t be messed with and in my opinion, I hope Mr. Unitas still holds the mark after this year is done. Brees already busted another favorite player of mine in Dan Marino’s Most Passing Yards in a Regular Season record which I thought would never be touched. What do you think?
