How to Play PigSkinGolf
1. General. The objective of PigSkinGolf is to play an 18-hole round of golf by accurately predicting the winners each week of pro football games during the regular season as well as the playoffs. The seventeen week regular season is the first seventeen holes on your round in PigSkinGolf. The entire post-season is the 18th hole. How well you choose the winners of the pro football games each week determines the score you receive relative to par on each corresponding golf hole. Each player signs in and individually makes their picks each week, prior to a pre-determined deadline. Players may change their picks at any time prior to that deadline, but once the deadline has passed, all picks (or lack thereof) are locked and can't be modified.
2. How to make your selections. You may enter your selections online after logging in. Simply click on the "View/Change My Picks" link near the top center of the Home page. There, you will see a list of games that will be played each week. Use the "Week" drop-down box to view the games for the desired week. Prior to the deadline for each week (see "Lock Time" below), click the drop-down box next to each game and click on the team you think will win each match-up. When you have made your choices for all the games that week, click the "Submit" button on the bottom of the page. You will see a confirmation message that your picks have been recorded in the system. If you do not make any picks for a given week, your score is automatically a quadruple bogey (four over par) for that hole.
3. Scoring. This following tables illustrates how the scoring works:
| | Number of Correct Choices |
| | Eagle | Birdie | Par | Bogey | D-Bogey | T-Bogey | Q-Bogey |
| For 16-game weeks | 16 | 15 - 14 | 13 - 12 | 11 - 10 | 9 - 8 | 7 | 6 - 0 |
| For 15-game weeks | 15 | 14 - 13 | 12 - 11 | 10 - 9 | 8 - 7 | 6 | 5 - 0 |
| For 14-game weeks | 14 | 13 - 12 | 11 - 10 | 9 - 8 | 7 - 6 | 5 | 4 - 0 |
| For 13-game weeks | 13 | 12 - 11 | 10 - 9 | 8 - 7 | 6 - 5 | 4 | 3 - 0 |
| For the playoffs | 11 | 10 | 9 - 8 | 7 - 6 | 5 - 4 | 3 | 2 - 0 |
Remember: If you do not make any picks for a given week, the hole will be scored as if you had 0 correct picks and you will receive a quadruple bogey (four over par). |
4. Lock Time. Each week, the system will automatically "lock" to prevent further pick submission. In general will be "locked" approximately one (1) hour prior to kick-off of the first game each week The schedules of all football games are subject to change due to conditions out of our control. However, we will make every effort to allow sufficient time for you to get your picks in on time. Entrant's picks must be submitted, received and recorded by PigSkinGolf's computer by the scheduled lock-time in order to be counted. Selections submitted after the deadlines, as determined by the web site itself, will not be accepted, and you will automatically score a quadruple bogey for that week's hole. PigSkinGolf's computers are the official time keeping device.
5. Tie Scores. In the event of tie scores, PigSkinGolf will use a "matching cards" system to determine a winner. Among players with tie scores, hole scores will be compared beginning on the number 1 handicapped hole and continue until there is a winner. If there is no winner determined using that method, then the winner will be determined by using the average score of all par 5's on the scorecard for the round.
6. Prizes. All players are eligible for prizes based on the game they are playing (Amateur, Pro, or Champion) and their ranking relative to other players in that game. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the season to the top 20 players in each game.
